Dutch-Egyptian collaboration to get high-quality onion with Dutch varieties
The Netherlands and Egypt have something in common: they love onions. Only the best is good enough for loved ones. The onions in the pictures at Worood Agri-Services’s farm are special. Bejo Zaden has provided high-quality Dutch varieties fitting Egyptian conditions. As seeds are the first set of inputs required for crop farming, having high-quality seeds is the first step in growing a quality onion crop.
Delphy International visited the field regularly during the growing season through field visits within the DESALT Farming project. The salinity has been monitored by The Salt Doctors. This Dutch-Egyptian collaboration to get quality onions aims to improve the Egyptian onion sector and strengthen its connection with the Netherlands.
